“Vibiana is one of the most stunning venues around. Once a church, it now sets the stage for all the pretty that Los Angeles weddings have to offer. And this one? A garden beauty filled with blush pinks, gold sparkle and grand marble backdrops. Pore through the vault for more including florals by Lotus & Lily, planning by Modern LA Weddings and all the pretty images captured by onelove photography.”

From the Bride:
We always thought our wedding should be timeless by maintaining some traditions, while adding a few non-traditional twists. We wanted our ceremony to feel intimate, and that’s why we asked a close friend to marry us. We wanted it to feel personal, but not cheesy. It was also very important to both of us to write our own vows. Besides that, we didn’t want the wedding to feel so orchestrated or forced. We didn’t have games or anything. We just wanted our guests to come, party, and have a great time!
Our venue was a decommissioned church, so there were definitely a few architectural elements that were religious. My parents wanted to hide the altar, but we really didn’t want to mask any of building since it is so beautiful. Instead, we opted to drape a sheer fabric over the area. I feel like this enhanced the overall look of the altar and gave it a lightness. It wasn’t obvious that we were trying to disguise something. Instead of having a written sign or an enlarged photograph, we did 3′ tall floral initials at the entrance. It felt not as literal or expected, and it was an excuse to add more flowers!
I learned that you can’t control every single thing about your wedding, and it is extremely important to plan ahead and take your time! I would recommend getting a videographer. There are so many funny and unique memories (and dancing!) at every wedding, and these are captured so well in a video. I also definitely recommend hiring a wedding planner, even if it is not for full service. (We hired our planner for partial planning.) With our planner, I felt like I did not have to worry about anything on the day of and his team took care of everything for us. My favorite part of the wedding was the first look. I was definitely nervous and had barely gotten any sleep the night before, but seeing each other before the wedding really calmed our nerves. It was a very special and private moment that we got to share together. I also loved a surprise from one of the groomsmen. He had a cash “cannon” that shot out fake money for our grand entrance/bridal party introduction. I think all of our guests were truly stunned and entertained!
